About Us
Who We Are
30 years ago, our mom decided to make the switch from her beloved breed of Chow-Chow's to a more family friendly breed, none other than the Golden Retriever. She started off with just a single female and a few years later added a male to the pack. Over the years one grew to three, three grew to five, and eventually we had seven goldens leaving their golden glitter all over our home. That is when our business became a family affair. MGR is managed primarily by Pate, the owner of Maya, and when Lemon's litter comes around each year, Paige. We manage this website and our Facebook Page. Meet Pate
Located in Austin, TX with Maya and Maple!
Pate is a Solution Consultant in her day job, but avid golden retriever owner and lover the other 16 hours of the day. She is our vision of what MGR is becoming. As we have made the switch from word of mouth to an online following, Pate is who you primarily communicate with. She is the proud owner of Maya and Maple. They have completed many certifications together and have visited 14 National Parks and Landmarks together. When she is not raising a litter of puppies, you can find her and the dogs at the nearest lake, pond or river enjoying the sunshine and spending time together.
Meet Paige
Located in Plainfield, IN with Lemon!
Paige is the proud owner of Lemon, our blonde girl! Paige and Lemon are the ying to each other's yang. Paige loves to be curled up inside with the latest book and a soft blanket, while Lemon loves to sit outside in nature watching the deer and wildlife pass by from the porch. Paige is a Hoosier and says her favorite part of Lemon is their shared hatred of our Northern Rivals, Purdue. When they aren't watching the Hoosiers, you can find Lemon and Paige playing fetch together in the backyard.
Meet Penny and Bill
Located Near Lebanon, IN with Storm.
Penny and Bill are the founders of MGR. They started the family affair of loving and raising the best golden retrievers the midwest has to offer. Bill loves the golden retriever breed for nearly everything about them, but especially their drive to retriever and be outdoors. Penny is a lover of goldens, but her favorite dogs are the spitz breeds- Pomeranians and Chow Chows. Pictured here are Penny and Bill with the human children!
